I was given the privilege to meet a good friend of mine from Rosario Batangas. A person with down to earth character, a look alike or I would say separated at birth of our very own local actress Maja Salvador, a success like brewing a cup of coffee in the morning, give it a way to Audrey Diaz. Herself was a model and started a career in modeling from two tv stations, ABC 5 and ABS-CBN and established her own modeling academy- Philippine Fashion Modelo Academy (PFMA) seven months ago. Instead of continuing her career for her own advantage she decided to help her own fellow citizens back in the province of Batangas who would like to have a career in the world of Fashion Industry. Just like a school, a basic were taught from day one until they reach the final days of selection. Here aspiring models can do and have the options to be officially part of the so called World of Fashion.
Ages 6 to 24 years old were the main participants from different parts of Batangas as far as Balete. Here participants do the catwalk and practice good postures that will simply bring out the best in them before showcasing their talents before ramping at the stage . Thru the help of the trainer, basic postures, projection and facial expression were given the emphasis to bring out the best in every twist and movement of the body while walking in the stage.

Contrary to the popular belief, if you want to a be model looks is the primary factor to consider and yes it seems true however in modelling career looks is not the only aspect to consider and cannot exist alone. One may have the looks and the height but if he or she do not have the ability to project, the confidence and the aura to capture the audience then everything will be put into a wastebasket. Over the last 20 years the world of Fashionista were evolving into something different versus the old ways of modelling. Fashionista's were taught and exposed to a different culture that bring out the best of what they have, the culture, couture and the ability to submerge and adapt the way society accepted the trends and fashion on how people would accept and love the vivid pictures of self portrayal.

Lectures provided to the aspiring participants to help them better understand the basic concepts of modelling, photography and fashion industry. During lecture, basic of the basic were taught, pictured and inculcated in every mind of young aspirants not only for the theory itself but for the deeper concepts that help them gain their confidence regardless if they are front of the camera or simply walking down the street. One of the well respected lecturer I met is Architect Norman Morales who is a professional photographer by himself and currently the President of Batangas Photographer Association, he pointed out during lecture the important aspects of modelling doesn't only focuses on the looks alone but it is always the combination of confidence, humility and being smart all the time. As seasoned photographer, he emphasized the things to bear in mind what should models do during shoot events-to be a good follower all the time, how individual handle themselves in front of the people during the show and to be more aware of the small things that often neglected such as focus and balance on or before the show. By doing so, it helps the models overcome the fear thus maintaining high level of confidence all throughout the event.

The Philippine Fashion Modelo Academy(PFMA) was first conceived last October 20, 2012 by its President Audrey Aurra Diaz after organizing a fashion show in Manila. She intended to give local freelance modeling platform to showcase models from Batangas especially those local amateur models and designers without enough resources. The PFMA has been continuously conducting workshops and personal development trainings for those aspiring ramp and print models. PFMA provide tips and techniques for developing the skills and knowledge necessary to gain self-confidence and professionalism needed in the fashion industry.
The facilitator may ask participants to recall a particular workshop session for systems evaluation and identify the best aspects of the course that led to talent retention to properly improve their performance on the personality and skills satisfaction. Additionally, activities prepare instructors to build relationship with the participants. At the end of the training program, they would be required to do a live fashion show as part of the culminating event of their workshop. The Philippine Fashion Modelo Academy(PFMA) is not an agency but only a modeling training group composed of models, talents, designers and make up artists that conduct skills training programs honed through series of photoshoots and ramp modeling. The live fashion at the end of each program will showcase the talent's potentials which will eventually open their doors to better opportunities.
