Rehearse… Rehearse.. Rehearse.. Rehearse

It is been a year since the PHILIPPINE FASHION MODELO ACADEMY(PFMA) went hibernated from the world of modelling but it  does not mean  that the school  stops producing the next batch of models  who wants to be part of the modelling industry and not to mention those aspiring models who would like to  try and give  it a shot what it takes to be a model. Dubbed as the only modelling schools in the city of Lipa Batangas that rock as a warrior from day one  the  founder opened the school,  unperturbed as time  passes, beyond compare in terms of  quality that soar high in producing top talents, achievements as we may call it- thank you Ms. Audrey Diaz for sharing your talent for those young beauties whose dream is to enter the world of modelling.

Now, a new batch is undergoing a rigid workshop to enhance the skills, projection, facial expression good posture, the do’s and don’ts in  facing  the camera, catwalk, basic stance, make up tutorial and  how to walk like a model in the  runway. The workshop usually  runs for a total of 4 weeks, 2 hours every saturday to be properly engage  in the  sequence  of the " cat walk" and to delivery the set goal  thru extensive workshop done and mentored by graduate models of PFMA.

New batch of enrollees- Batch 17, first day of  meeting

PFMA primarily teach students about  developing self-confidence. With this approach, students learn the basic and  fully understand what it takes to be a model, on how to develop one's confidence thru proper mentoring, understanding the basic of modelling, proper dress code and interaction.

Warm up before the actual  workshop. this help the  students be more flexible.

During the  workshop, students are  guided  by their mentor  to do the proper walk and posture. As students follow and  imitate the actual posture and walk, students  learn the basic that help them enable their skills to  develop as they progress.

A mentor is  giving a lecture  to  her  students the basic of  standing and stance-with Queenee Mercado.

On the same manner, boys  are also practicing their walk to make it perfect long before the actual ramp show. The posture, the sequence of walk and the perfect timing as they progress all throughout their workshop.

All throughout  the practice,  students are guided, mentored by models to ensure quality before their recital-a ramp walk where showcasing their talent,  the proper projection that includes emotion, expression and execution of their walk.

A mentor taught  newbies the proper posture when standing wearing their stilettos.

A rehearsal is the integral part, during rehearsal, students undergo rigid training that will equip them with what they need and what expected from them during the ramp. Bringing the best out of them is what rehearsal is all about, only the  best and nothing is least expected. It may sound cliché but that is what reality is all about specially in the field of ramp modelling.

Practice makes perfect- practice perfect makes perfect- rehearsal

The key techniques in teaching students on how to walk properly like professional models do is to show enthusiasm during the practice and an open communication with mentor  and of course self-discipline- knowing what is right versus what it seems right.

Meet and greet with the president and founder of  PFMA- Ms. Audrey Diaz- blue flora dress, with former students and certified models of PFMA Sairah Hilado, Jhonalyn Uy and Kimberly Lim -Andal. meeting with the new batch of students- Batch 17.

Ms Kim Lim -Andal a former  student of PFMA and a  certified model brief and gave insights what modelling is all about- teaching the basics

PFMA does not only  teach  students  on how to walk, stand and ramp  like a model. As part of their workshop, a basic make-up tutorial is given to each each student the  proper way of using makeup, blush on and lipstick- what are  the  do's and don'ts  in wearing a make-up, when to wear make up for every occasions.

A  make-up tutorial taught by James Malick  Hilado RN-students listen attentively as the   discussion progress. Here, students learned the  basics that will help them and understand how to wear make-up properly  that  will equip them not  only as models alone  but as well as for every occasion needed.

It has been a tradition here at  PFMA that students undergo tutorial about make-up. The  basic lesson given and a handful of insights makes  the class understand the basic among the basic such as apply foundation versus putting make up directly, what colour of lipstick to wear that matches the  occasion that will match the colour of their dress that makes  individual outstand in their own little way.

Another tutorial that models need to understand is the basic of Photography. Yes, photography. Why? well, this will help them on how to project in front of the camera, what emotions and eye contact is all about, what expression needed to capture  what will define their character, execution and the  expected   output. In photography, the most important that most models do not understand and often neglected is the ability to listen to to instructions given by  the  photographer and yes it happens most of the time specially those  who are a tyro when it comes to photoshoot. That is why PFMA includes  in their curriculum the basic of photography for models to be aware what are the poses needed, what are the difference between average, good and best post  that will make them outstand as they project  in front of the camera.

Arch. Norman Morales prepare the  slides for  photography session with new batch.

In this lesson, models  were taught  on how to project well, simple rules to be followed and what are the  things needs to be done, like accessories to wear, project projection, concept of the shoot and the right dress to wear. On the final phase, photoshoot is the  final output after the  photosession wherein models will apply  of what they have learned during the  rehearsal and in photography session.
