Malabrigo

A quick getaway heading to the southern part of the country and my destination is in Malabrigo, Lobo Batangas. A plan was made not only to ease the heat of summer and work-related stress but to set up a photoshoot as well with my friend.  The last time I visited Malabrigo was way back in 2018 with my friend, after that a pandemic hit the country and everything stopped for a while- A God-given rest for everything. Fast forward to 2024, and it was indeed a truly great experience, short and sweet.

The beauty of Malabrigo Beach is crafted in the hand of God, it may not be as beautiful as Boracay and Coron or any beaches in the country, but it’s an accommodating place to relax and temporarily forget the hustle and bustle of city life that causes stress. A place to disconnect from reality, contemplate, and regain inner peace, and consciousness of self-being.

KAWAI Beach Resort facing the beach with tents perfect for glamping I would say. What a great week end. Kawai Beach Resorts offers affordable overnight fees, the resort usually has a tent with Air conditioning and or a fan to choose from. The place is awesome to stay where it gives you the chance to relax and have a good night's sleep.

We arrived at 12.30pm, we had a late lunch at 2.30 pm. Pork sinigang cooked in real tamarind fruit, grilled Pompano and  squid. Morning breakfast, beef tapa, fried egg with brewed coffee.

April 28 is  Malabrigo Fiesta, one of the local invited us to join for a feast but we are in  in a hurry to go back to Manila. It was indeed a fun and excitement. What a great week end spent for relaxation. Until then.

Fun Fact:

The Malabrigo Point Lighthouse was among the lighthouses constructed by the Spanish colonial authorities in the Philippines from 1846 to 1896 as part of the Plan General de Alumbrado de Maritimo de las Costas del Archipelago de Filipino (Masterplan for the Lighting of the Maritime Coasts of the Philippine Archipelago), the goal of which was to install 55 lighthouses all over the archipelago, including its remotest corners.

Malabrigo Point Lighthouse, also known as Faro de Punta Malabrigo (Filipino: Parola ng Punta Malabrigo), is a historic lighthouse located about 115 kilometres (71 mi) southeast of Manila in Barangay Malabrigo, Lobo, Batangas, Philippines. Completed and lit in 1896, it is one of the oldest working lighthouses in the Philippines as well as the best preserved lighthouse in the country. It serves as a guide for ships passing through the Verde Island Passage going to either Batangas Bay or Sibuyan Sea
